Novotel Sofia is operated by Accor, A World Leading Augmented Hospitality Group.
We are looking for Senior Accountant.
Primary tasks and responsibilities:
∙ chronological registration of the accounting entries in relation to the activities of the Hotel;
∙ documents management and control;
∙ dealing with bank transfers, payments and cash flow management;
∙ keeping of systematic accounting ledgers for summarizing the accounting information in relation to the activities of the Hotel;
∙ performing and reviewing all journal entries in line with expected accuracy, quality and timelines
∙ preparing of primary and secondary accounting documents and trial balance, interim and annual closing of the accounting ledgers;
∙ preparation of VAT reports, Statutory and Tax reports, Withholding tax documentation and reports;
∙ reconciliation and posting of account payable and management accruals
∙ month-end closing and monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts;
∙ monitoring the CAPEX plan and coordinating with the owning company;
∙ calculating and paying of taxes and state fees in relation to the activities of the Hotel;
∙ verification of monthly payroll ensuring that all salaries’ payments are correct and delivered on time;
∙ internal controls - local and corporate – (SOP) procedures maintenance and compliance
∙ corporate internal audits – full compliance and responsibility;
∙keeping, classifying and archiving of the accounting information according to the procedure provided by the law;
∙receiving and delivering of accounting documents to and from the Hotel’s servicing banks, communication with tax and other state and municipal authorities and suppliers of services;
∙knowing and applying the policies, job requirements, standards, etc. of the Novotel Brand, including commitments to the environment charter, requirements on hygiene on the work place, security regulations (in case of fire, etc.).
∙ Participation in analysis and planning
Qualifications:
- 5 years accounting experience, hotel accounting experience at higher level is a strong advantage, so is understanding of statutory accounting/tax regulations in the hospitality sector
- Fluent English - written and spoken
- Good understanding of hotel operations is a strong advantage
- Positive and self-driven, motivated and initiative, well-spoken and explicit, attentive listener, open and honest, of integrity, patient and tolerant, team-skilled, handles stress and critics constructively
- Able to study, analyze, interpret activities and information in order to identify/suggest/defend/ implement proper practices
-Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Full computer skills (basic PC package a must, please list professional software and ERP systems used)
