Senior Cloud Security Engineers (Microsoft Azure)



As a Cloud Security Engineer (Microsoft Azure) in PwC you will be assigned with a leading role in substantial Cloud Security assessment, transformation and implementation projects across Europe. You will be responsible for overall designs and implementation work of highly sophisticated tools which require a variety of skills in IT, Business process automation and Security Compliance standards.
You will be expected to lead and coordinate all efforts from our side like defining project scope, assessment of current implementation, defining project structure, technical design, implementation, operations etc. As a leader in the team you will need to provide support and knowledge transfer to other team members by utilizing their individual strengths and helping them to develop.

Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Working as a security engineer consultant for multiple clients and projects.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on Cloud Security

  • Develops project documentation containing standards, policies, procedures and best practices.

  • Deliver quality work which matches our company standards on time

  • Translate security and technical requirements into business requirements and communicate security risks to different audiences ranging from business leaders to engineers.

  • Propose and/or design technical solutions, which include creating prototypes and proofs of concept while maintaining a security mindset

  • Lead and influence project team andor junior colleagues in implementing and operating Cyber Security controls.

  • Automate security controls, data and processes.

  • Utilize cloud-based APIs when appropriate to write network/system level tools for securing cloud environments

  • Stay current on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and controls.

  • Evaluates technologies against established requirements and validate the security of the technology.


Professional experience required:


  • 3 - 5 Years of experience in a Cloud Security role 

  • Strong working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure security and managing common Azure services (Virtual Machine, Database, Storage, Virtual Network, Azure Resource Manager, etc.)

  • Overall IT infrastructure understanding in Networking, Authentication, Authorization, Security and compliance, Experience with hosted data center environments

  • Demonstrated comprehension of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices

  • Strong experience with security engineering and ensuring technologies and solutions are securely designed

  • Understanding and ability to develop and implement IAM processes

  • Experience or working knowledge in basic database administration 


Educations and skills considered as an advantage:


  • Certification in one or more of the following: Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-103 and/or 104), MCSE Productivity, Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500), Microsoft 365 Security Administration (MS-500)

  • Working experience in one of the IGA/IAM Software’s – Sailpoint Identity IQ, ForgeRock Open IDM and Open AM, Omada Identity Suite is considered a strong advantage

  • Working experience with one or more of the PAM Software’s – CyberArk, CA, Beyond Trust is considered a strong advantage

  • Information security related certification, such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM

  • Understanding of information security frameworks and regulatory standards, such as ISO 27001/2, NIST, CSF, PCI DSS, GDPR 


Soft Skills and other requirements:


  • Fluent in English language

  • Willing to travel

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Good communication skills and customer centric focus

  • Ability to work without supervision and supervise other people
