Summary: The American Embassy Recreation Association (AERA) is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Sales Clerk / Barista / Assistant Manager. This is not a U.S. Government employee.
OPENING DATE: July 6, 2022
CLOSING DATE: August 5, 2022
WORK HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours/week
SALARY: BGN 1,500 per month (net)
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
- Assists the AERA Manager in managing the commissary facility.
- Functions as the main salesperson in the commissary, assisting customers with purchases.
- Serves as the AERA Barista, preparing hot drinks for customers on demand.
- Uses a Point of Sale (POS) system to receive new stock, remove expired items and maintain current inventory lists in order to keep inventory in check.
- Ensures that all items in the store are properly priced with labels on each item and shelves are clean.
- Rotates stock and displays regularly, removes expired items from the shelves.
- Assists in ordering items locally, their pick-up, transporting to the store, inventorying into the POS,
and displaying on the shelves.
- Drives the AERA vehicle when necessary to bring new stock to the store.
- Protects and safeguards all AERA assets.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Education: High-school degree is required.
2. Work experience: Experience in sales and/or marketing is considered a plus.
3. Language requirements:
• English - Good working level (speaking/reading/writing) is required
• Bulgarian - Good working level (speaking/reading/writing) is required
4. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must be proficient with using a personal computer and related Microsoft Office package (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and be able to learn how to use various computer software;
• Must be customer service oriented;
• Must be organized and able to work independently;
• Possession of a class B driver’s license;
• Ability to lift up to 20 kilograms.
