Project Buyer

For our production plant in Bulgaria city Pazardzhik we are looking to hire:
Project Buyer

Main Job Purpose


The Project Buyer is fully responsible for all assigned purchased parts within the projects from concept phase and initial calculation until successful SOP. Herewith he implements the material and supplier procurement strategy for new projects, ensures that parts are sourced at  budget level and that sourcing decisions, commercial terms and supplier capabilities meet Kostal requirements and conform to company procedures and goals.

Principle accountabilities
 


  • Participate as the representative from purchasing in project teams for the development phase of new products, ensuring all bought out components/systems are purchased in line with set timing plans and budget.

  • Fullfills all activities within the ProKostal Management system which belongs to project buyers. Furthermore he aligns and leads all activities of the supplier development department for those parts which occur in his projects; until PPAP releases.

  • Does risk assessments for all parts within his projects through team meetings of ABP, ABQ, AE and project management and define actions to elimate /minimize the risks.

  • Select, together with the Commodity Buyer, companies that meet technical, quality and commercial requirements, ensuring selection conforms with Kostal purchasing strategy. 

  • Negotiate contracts for new parts, with the aim of achieving the best possible long term price, quality and service with approved suppliers, ensuring contractual terms are agreed with the supplier base.

  • Place purchase orders and set up frame orders in support of pre- production and starting of production for new parts, ensuring the smooth hand over of PPAP approved parts into serial production.

  • Support the release and control of engineering changes during project development phase. 

  • Ensure tight control is exercised over the cost and timely supply of purchased materials and samples during the project phase.

  • Support all internal departments in the resolution of supply issues ensuring the supplier responds according to the urgency of the situation, with respect to the introduction of new products.

  •  Communicate with the Kostal Global Purchasing organisation, ensuring the use of the latest group information with respect to project purchasing.



Preferred Education & Experience 



  • Education:  University Degree level   in an Engineering discipline or Business discipline with significant technology competence. 

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a progressive high volume manufacturing, ideally automotive environment utilising a world-wide supply base. (Essential)

  • Experience of Mechanical is essential; Electronic and Electro Mechanical components plus PCB’s would be an advantage. (Desirable)

  • Experience in a project team environment (Essential)

  • A working knowledge of MRP and Kanban systems. (Desirable)

  • A proven track record in cost negotiation and cost analysis techniques. (Essential)

  • Good organisation skills, IT literate; a team player with excellent problem solving abilities and tenacity;  positive attitude and able to deal with pressure.  Persuasion and influencing skills with excellent communication abilities; a proven track record of supply chain management and the ability to question the status quo and suggest improvements. (Essential)
