Manager, Accounts Payable

- As Manager, Accounts Payable, you will manage the Accounts Payable (AP) service line for BIC's global shared service center based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Your responsibilities include:
- Motivate and encourage the development of team members
- Serve as advanced escalation point for complex transactions and business queries, supporting team to resolve issues whenever possible and liaising with other appropriate teams as required, resolve critical topics
- Participate in various group projects related to the P2P process, including new systems/tools implementation and their enhancement
- Team KPIs and continuous improvements:
- Monitor performance dashboards for all in-scope services/activities to support service governance
- Deliver to agreed SLA’s regarding time and accuracy, working directly with key stakeholders to identify and address issues where required
- Review monthly metrics/KPIs and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Lead process simplification and improvement initiatives
- Drive collaboration with Group Finance and local Finance teams to identify and implement process improvements
- Share best practices and cross-fertilize, align regularly on activities in scope with other colleagues in the Finance Service Line – Conduct lessons learned
- Compliance with group guidelines, procedures & policies:
- Stay up-to-date on the latest BIC policies and procedures as well as legal constraints and new trends in financial management / accounting and related systems and technology
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
- Be the counterpart for the Finance Service Line GBS with third parties such as Tax Authorities, External Auditors, Chartered Accountants, etc.
- Drive Business / Local Finance adoption of the new Finance Target Operating Model, coaching local Finance to use the right channels and Finance teams to receive the support they need
- 2 to 5 years' experience in a similar function and experience in a SSC or finance industries
- In depth knowledge of Accounts Payable management
- Fluent English, another European language is a plus
- Technical and practical application experience in accounts payable procedures and controls is desirable
- People management experience
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Able to deal with and enhance complex, computerized business systems - BIC is using multiple internal tool and systems (JDE, ECM COMARCH, Ivalua)
