Database Administrator

Currently, we are looking to hire a Database Administrator who will:

• Manage and operate medium and large-sized production database systems across multiple data centers - including MySQL Server (v5.6/5.7) on Linux (Debian)


• Provide direct operational support across all areas of the production database infrastructure: database clusters, release management, performance monitoring and troubleshooting, and capacity and disaster planning


• Install, configure and deploy MySQL (v5.6/5.7) database servers on Debian. Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization of the databases


• Assist in designing Backup and Recovery strategies


• Develop and maintain documentation on systems management and operational procedures. Follow operational policies and processes. Participate in change control procedures. 


• Provide day-to-day database support and maintenance. Investigate and resolve database issues. Stage and deploy database changes to production 


• Setup and manage access and security control Monitor production system and proactively optimize database performance 


• Provide after-hours on-call support on a rotational basis and as required, given the 24x7 nature of the services

Required Skills:

• 5+ years working with MySQL technology


• Strong proficiency in MySQL database management


• Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB


• Experience with replication configuration in MySQL


• Knowledge of MySQL features, such as stored procedures and tables partitioning

Advantage will be experience with the following:

• Certified MySQL DBA


• Experience using Percona


• Managing large scale MySQL databases
