Regional Procurement Category Specialist

As a Regional Procurmenet Category Specialist you will have the following key accountabilities: 

Category Sourcing Plan:


  • Support in analysis of supply market, understanding products/services being purchased within category, understanding internal demand/specification and external best practices

  • Identify and analyse strategic sourcing options under the guidance of the Regional Category Manager

  • Run/support tender process

  • Challenge current working practices, specifications and demands for category

  • Harmonize specification(s) with business stakeholders to standardize demand



Contract Development:


  • Create negotiation plan and support Regional Category Manager with supplier negotiations

  • Ensure adherence to signing authorities

  • Communicate contracts to relevant stakeholders



Supplier Development:


  • Support Regional Category Manager with regular performance reviews with preferred suppliers

  • Support actions on continuous improvement plan with preferred suppliers

  • Support development of alternative suppliers

  • Support development and implementation of contract KPI’s


Contract Lifecycle Management


  • Conduct supplier compliance reviews

  • Monitor supplier performance

  • Support contract compliance

  • Support local sites with compliance to Regional and/or Global contracts, including communication



Now that you know what a Regional Procurmenet Category Specialist does, what skills, qualifications and experience do you need? 


  • University degree in Technical/ Business Administration or related subjects

  • Professional Procurement Qualifications would be considered as significant advantage

  • 3+ years’ work experience in a regional or global procurement role with a focus on relevant categories

  • Understanding of key sourcing processes and tools as well as contractual and legal aspects

  • Experience in demand management, sourcing and negotiations

  • Fluency in English

  • Good analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to drive results

  • Ability to influence others and align various interests

  • Proactive, target oriented and assertive personality with strong presentation skills

  • Able to work in a changing environment

  • Ability to solve problems and communicate complex issues clearly and effectively

  • Good time management, planning and organizational skills

  • Proficient in MS Office Competencies
